On October 6, the Knights played an away match against rival school Sacred Heart Prep and came away with a 3-2 win. The five set thriller contained headlining performances from many players. Senior Maddie Stewart posted 16 kills, freshman Selina Xu tallied 26 assists and four aces, and senior Peyton Mack added eight kills and six blocks. The Knights followed up their big win over Sacred Heart with another win against Notre Dame San Jose on October 8. It was 2-2 after four sets, but the Knights pulled away with a 15-0 win in the fifth set to seal the win. Again, Stewart posted an impressive 23 kills while sophomore Ashley Dreyer added 10 kills.

Boys Waterpolo:
The Knights hosted M-A in a tough league match on October 7. After three quarters, the Knights found themselves down 8-7 against the Bears, but finished strong with a 4-0 shutout in the fourth quarter to post an important league victory. The Knights had scoring from many players; however, senior James Thygesen led the way with four goals, followed by freshman Sam Untrecht with three. The Knights play De La Salle at home on October 9 at 5:30 pm in a non-league match.

On October 9, the Knights will host Woodside High at 3:00 pm in Menlo’s homecoming game. Coming off a 42-0 win over Carlmont, the Knights have had two weeks to prepare Woodside. Like the Knights, Woodside is also 4-0 and beat Carlmont 32-18. The Knights will have senior running back and defensive end Charlie Roth back after having an injured ankle for the past three weeks. The Knights will have a large crowd out at Cartan Field on Friday and hope to post a big homecoming win for the fans and the school.
